Tomi ISAACS

I’m…the 30% Club Programme and Team Lead. My main focus is to make sure the programme is a positive and valuable experience for both mentees and mentors. And to look ahead at how we can continue to grow, enhance and scale it to give more women and underrepresented groups access to the developing themselves and their network through the cross-company programmes.

I’ve experience across a number of different sectors – from NFP/NGO, to government and private sector. I started my career at Amnesty IS, then spent some time at ODI and Chatham House, before moving into the world of branding and comms with roles at a branding agency and then WPP. Whatever the context, my roles have always been about engaging stakeholders and clients with the organisation in a way that builds strong, mutually-beneficial relationships – helping our clients grow and be successful.

I love to work with grit and compassion. I’m a big believer in bringing creativity, commitment, humanity and genuine passion to the work that I do – and the momentum and energy that you can bring out in others, or that others can bring out in you, when we embark on a journey that we're all bought into together, makes our serious work fun, rewarding and meaningful.

I bring an endless curiosity about business and the business of business. Especially how we work with clients inclusively. I'm a creative problem-solver and I really believe we have to keep innovating and disrupting the status quo to make progress – especially when barriers are as engrained as they have been in some industries. I keep going because I'm an optimist and the goal of helping organisations to eliminate institutional barriers to success for women and underrepresented groups is (sadly) enormous and it will take perseverance and ongoing commitment to redress the balance.

Moving Ahead creates connections that enable people to find their own work – and life – related solutions. It’s built on the principle that we can learn from each other and one another's' experience. We carefully match a (high potential) mentee from one organisation to a mentor from another organisation. When it works best, the relationship is a win-win for mentors and mentees, fuelled by a shared greater sense of what is possible.
