I am…Nicola Nicholson, Finance Lead at Moving Ahead. I make sure this vital function runs smoothly and efficiently in the background, enabling everyone else to work their magic to develop diversity and inclusion in other workplaces.

I’ve been…a chartered accountant for a number of years. I trained at Deloitte, where I went on to work on a variety of large PLCs. I worked outside the profession briefly, in a dive club in Egypt, followed by a number of years as Group Financial Controller for an expedition company, providing life-changing experiences and leadership training for older children and young adults.

I love…working within a business that enables real change for the better. The Moving Ahead team is fun, energetic, always professional and very personable. I also love my allotment and walking in the woods with my old black Labrador. I’m passionate about the outdoors and the amazing physical and mental wellbeing it brings, especially if experienced on horseback.

I bring…all my roles to work. I’m mum to two vibrant, intelligent beings who keep me on my toes, and also a school governor. I feel privileged to be involved in the strategy of the school and to be able to work closely with the headteacher, putting my keen eye for detail and financial experience to good use.
