Anna Watkins MBE
Olympic Gold Medallist & World Champion Rower
Anna was introduced to rowing when she studied at the University of Cambridge. She showed a natural talent for the sport and had her first taste of success in 2004 when she made her international debut and won Gold at the U23 World Championships. From there onwards she became an integral member in the women’s squad and in 2008 won a Bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In 2010 Anna was selected for the double sculls with Katherine Grainger, a boat that became a formidable force for the next two years which subsequently went on to win Gold at London 2012 Olympic Games.
Since being crowned an Olympic Champion, Anna took a break from rowing where she had two sons, William and Richard.
