Sarah Winckless MBE
Olympic bronze medallist & DOUBLE WORLD CHAMPION

Sarah Winckless MBE - Olympic bronze medallist, double World Champion rower, and recipient of the Helen Rollason Award for Inspiration at the 2013 Sky Sports and Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards. Sarah spent four years as Chair of the Athletes’ Commission for the British Olympic Association and recently led the most successful Youth Olympic Games team as Chef de Mission for Team GB in Nanjing.

Sarah’s achievements are all the more extraordinary considering the backdrop of uncertainty in her own life: her mother suffers from the genetic neurodegenerative disorder Huntington’s Disease, an incurable and hereditary condition that affects muscle coordination and leads to mental decline and behavioural symptoms. In 1997 Sarah discovered she also carries the Huntington’s gene, and is now patron of the Scottish Huntington’s Association. An experienced and highly rated speaker, Sarah talks with conviction and passion about making the most of every opportunity that comes your way, and giving your best in every situation.
