charles cousins
Olympic and world medallist rower

Not particularly sporty in his school days, Charles was introduced to rowing when talent ID representatives from GB Rowing visited his school in search for future olympians. Charles has experienced first hand the power sport has to change lives.

Charles spent a number of years as British number one in sculling. He was also part of a breakthrough quad winning the first ever British World Championship medal. While filled with success, Charles' story didn’t have the fairytale ending he hoped for. While at the top of his game and a few months out from the Rio Olympic Games he picked up a season ending injury.

Charles talks passionately to audiences about the ups and downs of elite sport, sharing lessons about performing under pressure, and the importance of teamwork, resilience, grit and self-belief.
