A progressive new inclusivity programme that broadens the scope of D&I initiatives to include thinking style and personality type as well as gender, ethnicity and sexuality, is being launched today with 14 leading organisations.
Mission INCLUDE, founded by diversity and development experts Moving Ahead, and global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman, brings CEOs and senior executives together to take action to create truly inclusive behaviours and cultures by focusing on the individual talent, not the ‘label’ they sit under.
Founder company Oliver Wyman, as well as AIG, BNY Mellon, Guy Carpenter, LSEG, Mizuho International, Reed Smith, State Street, RBS, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, British Army, M&G, Coca Cola and Santander are collaborating cross-organisation and cross-industry for maximum impact. The campaign is being led by Rupal Kantaria, Strategic Inclusion Adviser at Oliver Wyman, in collaboration with diversity and development specialists Moving Ahead.
Inclusion and diversity are firmly on the agenda around external diversity characteristics such as gender, ethnicity and sexuality, but they are not delivering the promised business benefits because by working in siloes this prevents real inclusion and innovation and leads to a talent shortage in major organisations.
Mission INCLUDE embraces and encourages diverse thinking:-
· For individuals from non-dominant groups through 1:1 cross-company mentoring
· For non-dominant groups using storytelling techniques in cross-company reverse mentoring circles, to openly explore and learn about inclusion and diversity challenges
· For organisations represented by network leads, L&D leads and Executive sponsors in cross-company organisational learning circles, to explore and consider best practice and how to accelerate change at an organisational level
Rupal Kantaria, Strategic Inclusion Adviser, Oliver Wyman, is leading the initiative.
