Anna Watkins MBE
Olympic rowing gold medallist

Anna was introduced to rowing when she studied at the University of Cambridge. She showed a natural talent for the sport and had her first taste of success in 2004 when she made her international debut and won Gold at the U23 World Championships. From there on she became an integral member in the women’s squad and in 2008 won a Bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In 2010 Anna was selected for the double sculls with Katherine Grainger, a boat that became a formidable force for the next two years, going on to win Gold at London 2012 Olympic Games.

After being crowned Olympic champion, Anna took a break from rowing and had two sons, William and Richard.

Anna is an enthusiastic keynote speaker, speaking around her Olympic journey and topics including motivation, teamwork and perseverance.
